TWINS || Austin Family Photographer

First off, blogging this session is WAY overdue. Life got busy and then in the back of my mind I thought that I had already shared it on my blog- I was wrong! You guys, this was one of my favorite sessions and I posted a lot about it on Instagram (which is why I thought I had blogged about it)! These twins belong to the wonderful Jesse (of http://www.jessecoulter.net) and Alex Coulter! Alex and Jesse are hilarious, down-to-earth, and so easy to become friends with! Jesse and I actually knew of each other from our parents but hadn't had contact in many years. It has been so great to be reconnected again and to see her children grow! Jesse is a lifestyle blogger and YouTuber in Austin, Texas and I swear if you follower her, you will fall in love! She keeps it real, shares her heart, and is always looking fashionable! (I think I laugh at every Instagram story she posts).

Jesse won a giveaway that I was doing on my Instagram and chose to use her session for her twin's first birthday! I was so excited because I had seen her twins on her Instagram and knew that we would have a lot of fun together!

Mindy's Bakeshop created two precious sprinkle smash cakes for the twins and as you can tell from the images, Whitney was a BIG fan! The second we put the cake on the ground, she grabbed the base, pulled it near her, and dove right in! We were cracking up so hard and didn't think it could get any better....and then she sat on her cake. Yup. Just plopped right down. She has such a sassy personality and it was so funny to see how different her and Walt were when it came to eating cake. Walt was really reserved and kept looking up at Jesse and Alex with a face that said, "Wait, you're letting me eat cake? Is this a trick?!"

To see more of Mindy's amazing work, check out her Instagram! She is insanely talented and every picture she posts will inspire you to take out your mixer and apron...I promise!

This session was so much fun and I just can't get enough of these twins! Yes, doing a session with one-year-old twins is a workout because they are on the move, but I loved following them around and capturing their personalities! Coulter family, you guys are so special and I am so glad that our world's reconnected again! Walt, Whit, and Turner are so lucky to have you two as parents!

Austin Texas Proposal || Austin Proposal Photographer

When a client inquires about a proposal session, I cannot help but jump around in my seat with excitement!! This wonderful couple lives in NYC and were visiting Austin for the first time on a weekend trip. When Cong reached out to me, he said he wanted the perfect backdrop to propose to in Austin, so we chose the Town Lake (Lady Bird Lake) Boardwalk with it's skyline views. I'm sorry, as an original Austinite, I just don't think it will ever be Lady Bird Lake in my vocabulary. Since he was from NYC, we had to do a lot of planning via phone, text, and email, but it all paid off because the proposal went off without a hitch! I was hiding on the boardwalk "taking pictures of the skyline" when they walked up into my frame. Cong's soon-to-be fiancé took a picture on her iPhone of the skyline and then started walking away...that is, until he told her something along the lines of "I have a surprise for you..." She spotted my camera and then a second later, Cong was down on one knee in front of her. I'd say that she was completely caught off guard! A few moments after the proposal happened, Ali's phone rang and it was her mom calling! As she looked at the new sparkly ring on her finger, she said into the phone, "MOM! Cong just proposed!!" This was a special moment to witness and capture with my camera! After they shared the good news, we took a few more pictures and then they went on their way to a nice dinner to celebrate! Cong and Ali, congratulations again! I am so excited for you two and wish you a beautiful life together! If you're ever back in Austin, I'd love to show you more of this beautiful city!

If you're considering booking a proposal session with McKenzie Coronado Photography, I urge you to read a review that Cong wrote about his experience below. I know that proposals are already full of nerves and adrenaline, so I try to make the moment as care-free and relaxed as possible for my soon-to-be grooms!

"After careful consideration, I decided to propose to my girlfriend in Austin. However, I'd never been to the city before, and we were only there for a three-day vacation. After doing some research (mainly Google), I found McKenzie as a top recommendation.  I contacted her to take our engagement/proposal photos.

I really didn't have any ideas other than a few recommendations from friends. However, given McKenzie's background, she was able to suggest several options. She was super engaging and really dedicated herself to this challenge. She even went to all her suggested places and took photos of them to send to me. In the end, I choose to propose at the boardwalk.

For the big day, we decided to meet at the last pier at 7:15pm. She had suggested this location because it overlooked the Austin skyline. We contacted each other throughout the day, and she was there way before our scheduled time to prepare for our arrival. She was great at blending in as a tourist taking pictures - my girlfriend at the time had no idea. When the big moment arrived, she was there to capture all of it. A few moment after I proposed, she came over, and took more pictures of us in various ways. A few hours later, she had sent five great pictures to pass along to our families, and about a week later, the other pictures arrived via email.

I am really glad that I choose McKenzie to capture our special moment. The pictures turned out great! She was a true professional from start to finish. "

This growing family is absolutely precious and so much fun to photograph! We had fun dancing, playing with flowers, and giving snuggles! (No flowers were hurt in the making of these precious pictures!) Momma is pregnant with their third baby, and I know these two will be incredible older siblings! Dilworth family, you two make beautiful babies and I look forward to meeting baby E!

Potter Family || Austin Family Photographer

I met this precious family through my in-laws. My in-laws once owned a restaurant on South Lamar and they were lucky enough to have loyal customers who they could create a relationship with. I would always hear about the "Foster girls" and how sweet they were. I felt like I knew them because I would always get a update on their life from my mother-in-law. When I finally met Katie, it all clicked why my mother-in-law enjoyed her company so much! Katie is sincere, spunky, fun, and down to earth.

Now that she is married and has a family of her own, I was so excited to be able to take their family pictures for their Christmas card! Katie and Andy's little boy, Foster, is so precious and is going to be a huge heartbreaker when he's older! His eyes are mesmerizing and his little personality is so cheeky! Potter family, I'd photograph you everyday if I could!
