OUTFIT INSPIRATION

You’re stressed. You have to coordinate clothes for multiple people, your toddler’s clothes don’t fit anymore, or you are postpartum and still getting acquainted with your new and powerful body. I get it. Trust me, I’ve been there plenty of times. It’s my job to make this easier for you, so let me tell you what I have learned over the years!

  1. Keep it neutral! You might be thinking, “how boring?” But, I challenge you to take a look at my website/Instagram or another photographer’s work and see which pictures you are drawn to. What draws you in about them? What are they wearing? Are the colors soft or loud? Most of the times they are wearing a mix of neutrals and pastels and you’re drawn to them because the colors are soft and the people are the focus of the photo. Sometimes loud or dark colors can overtake a photo and I want YOU to be the focus! Allow the background/scenery and sunlight to give the “wow factor” on colors!

  2. Add in a pattern! This is a great opportunity to add in a floral for mom or daughter or a light checker or stripe for dad or son!

  3. Add in a pop of color! A pop of a neutral or pastel color always gives some contrast to the combination and helps draw the eye in as well! (The pop of green or blue in the above picture draws me in!)

  4. Be comfortable! This isn’t the opportunity to try a new itchy texture on a child with sensory issues or new shoes that may give blisters. I want you to be comfortable- insecurities and all. We are human, we all have our own insecurities, but my hope for you is to be confident, comfortable, and PRESENT during our photoshoot. I want you to create memories with your loved ones, play, and be silly during our time together. THOSE are the moments your children will miss the most. Lastly, there are little ears listening, so let’s save the insecurity comments and show them the brave and confident person that you are! :)
